Dan Haseltine

Dan, the eldest of the four (only by several months) is often referred to by fans as the serious one of the bunch. But that port 'o pot joke in Real Magazine about Charlie's collective nature, gave me serious doubts. :) If Jars' music has caught the ear of music lovers, then Dan's lyrics have triggered major changes in many of those listener's hearts. Even though he seems very humbled with his talent, the words that spill out of this guy would have to evoke a nod from God. Never before in my own life had God spoken to me so clearly through a song. I sometimes wonder if Dan searches for words to Jars melodies, or if they just flow out of his heart while he's pumping gas or withdrawing cash from the ATM. One day I'd like to ask him. :) In any case, God certainly gave him the the gift of expression through his thoughts and passionate voice. Dan's voice is unique thus completing Jars' one-of-a-kind sound. (Oh yeah...for that one MTV BeeGee's comparison)... one quick listen to to "How Deep is your Love" can blow THAT assumption right out of the water! Suffering from "hair inhalation" while on stage (more whimsicallity :), less than two years ago Dan went under the blades to create a closer cropped "doo" and so far he's never looked back. He is known best for his enhanced ice cream Sundays while working the McDonald's drive-thru. And his interest in finding different uses for Ramen noodles has stirrred interest in culinary circles. But in reality, his commitment and constant faith in the living Christ is what drives his music... a lesson from which we could all learn.

Favorite quote from Dan: "We've believed from the very beginning that no matter what we are confronted with, the Lord will see us through. We are committed to seek His guidance in all that we do and to be vessels that God can hopefully continue to use. It's really all in His hands."

Dan's meaningful scripture: Psalms 27
